Sony 1000X THE COLLEXION is the brand's decade-mark luxury headphone, priced at $649.99 USD ($849.99 CAD) in Platinum and Black.
It celebrates ten years since the MDR-1000X in 2016. Sony leans on premium metal accents, vegan leather, and artisan-finished headband details. A bespoke driver with a unidirectional carbon composite dome arrives with mastering-engineer collaboration claims. These are the first Sony headphones with DSEE Ultimate Edge-AI upscaling. A Listening Mode button flips 360 Upmix modes for music, cinema, and games.
ANC tech is shared with WH-1000XM6, including the 12-mic Multi-Noise Sensor and Adaptive NC Optimizer. Sony rates battery at up to 24 hours with ANC and 32 hours with ANC off. What Hi-Fi? and the Sony store pages help you keep materials and listen language separate from XM6 value talk.
Why do lifestyle campaigns need this design story?
Because another XM upgrade isn't enough at this price. The brief has to sell materials, comfort, and soundstage refinement as the reason someone leaves XM6 money on the table. Anniversary framing gives social a clear hook without inventing heritage that isn't there.
What should creators show on camera?
Metal and leather details, Listening Mode switches, and long wear tests. Keep ANC claims aligned with XM6 tech sharing so you don't imply a secret new canceller. Quote Sony's battery hours as ceilings. Leave foldability for the comparison post, because Collexion's non-folding design is a real travel tradeoff.
Your move: Shoot a materials close-up reel and a commute test reel, then decide which one carries the $650 ask better for your audience.
